What is a Cottage Food program?
It is a licensed and permitted operation through the Washington State Department of Agriculture which allows preparation and sale of products from a home kitchen and residence that has not been subject to a standard inspection criteria. Rather, there is a strict application process unique to the national cottage food industry. You can learn more by visiting Cottage Food | Washington State Department of Agriculture.
My WSDA permit # is 1038 and renewed annually.
What are your hours of operation?
Messages/e-mails are checked daily and I usually respond within 24 hours. Actual order processing (planning, prep, baking, clean-up) are contingent upon my work schedule, events (Pop-Ups, Fundraisers/Donations, Sweet Treat Saturdays) and other personal commitments.
What opportunities are there to try your baked goods?
Follow Facebook and Instagram for announcements on Pop-Ups, "Sweet Treat Saturday" sampler box opportunities and giveaways such as Rabbit Rabbit, the Cookie Drawing, and other baking events. You can also click the "Events! " tab for a quick glance at what's going on with MRP!
I have a treat voucher or Pop-Up Bucks. How do I redeem them?
Gift certificates/vouchers will have terms and conditions listed, including an expiration date. When you are ready to redeem, e-mail me at moonrabbitpastry@gmail.com to determine my baking availability. Preparation/baking days and times depend on my work schedule, events (Pop-Ups, Fundraisers, Sweet Treat Saturdays) and other work-life balance goals. Pop-Up Bucks have no expiration date and can be applied towards any purchase during a Pop-Up or other special event. Be sure to bring it with you!
Do you bake gluten-free items? What if I have other allergies or sensitivities?
All baked goods are created in a licensed and permitted home kitchen where most equipment has contacted gluten and/or other allergens such as tree nuts, eggs, dairy and soy at some point in time. ***I am unable to guarantee that cross-contact will not occur or that items are free from traces of gluten and/or other allergens***
What is the custom order process?
Although I currently have limited availability for certain custom orders, I welcome inquiries. Please use the CONTACT tab. Let me know what you are interested in and when you need it. Orders are contingent upon my work schedule, events (Pop-Ups, Fundraisers/Donation fulfilment, Sweet Treat Saturdays) and other personal commitments. With any custom order, payment and pick-up instructions will be on your invoice. Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, and cash are all accepted forms of payment. Porch pick-up is in Brier during designated hours on Monday-Saturday. Free delivery is provided on Sunday ONLY for any Brier address. Other Sunday pick-up/delivery options are available and a nominal fee may apply.
How do I store my treats?
Your Moon Rabbit Pastries are freshly baked, without use of preservatives and best enjoyed the day they are picked up. If you do need to store them for later, use an airtight container or wrap in saran/foil and place in fridge or freezer.
What is Rabbit Rabbit?
Uttering these two words before any others on the first day of the month is a quirky little tradition that some follow with hopes of good luck. Superstitious or not, it’s just a fun folklore activity (and a chance at some free cookies!). Visit Moon Rabbit Pastry's Facebook page on the FIRST of every month for a chance to win a dozen cookies!
